First Shield: A lack of unstable molecules...[Action/Voice]

[Action]

[Early in the evening of July 9th, Susan Richards wakes up in a very, very strange place, an unfamiliar couch. In YOUR living room. She blinks and looks around, extremely confused. When this strange, blond woman sees you...her eyes go wide she disappears, clothes and all. Astute listeners may hear the sounds of her feet as she gets up and moves away from you and the couch.]

Wha! What on Earth?! WHO are you and WHERE am I?

[Susan's voice is pretty demanding for an invisible person who just woke up in your house, and it seems to be coming from all around you, her powers distorting it.

Maybe you could help talk some sense into her? Explain the situation? Perhaps you're feeling pretty mad? Break time, go nuts! This isn't locked to anyone!]

[Much, much later, Susan's voice will appear over the journal after she's collected herself and gotten out of whoever's house she wound up in]

Hello everyone. This is Susan Richards of the Fantastic Four. If there are any members of the Fantastic Four, the Avengers, the X-Men, or even anyone that just recognizes my name I would appreciate it if you would get in touch with me. Hell, even if you are just feeling helpful and are willing to share information, I'd really appreciate it. I've just arrived and I need help getting my bearings. I don't want to impose, but I really need some answers.

Also, if anyone comes across a blue jumpsuit with a 4 on it, I'd ask that they not touch it, its made of highly unstable molecules that can react oddly to anyone that isn't me.

[Her voice isn't terribly upset, more confused. Its not like she's never woken up in strange places or been in rough situations alone before. Thats...sort of what the Fantastic Four do!]

(OOC: Feel free to break time with the action portion of the post! I've got nobody in particular who needs to find her so she can wake up in anyone's living room that wants an Invisible Woman)

From what I've gathered from Ms. Potts, no, no you are not. Unless, does the Superhuman Registration Act or Stamford Connecticut mean anything to you?

Not a bit. I think you might know a copycat marching to a different drum. Met anyone you can pinpoint to being from your same universe yet?

[She knows when you're lying, even now. And now you aren't. THAT earns you a HEAVY sigh of relief Tony. If you were from HER world...boy you don't even wanna KNOW what she'd do to you]

Yes. Billy Kaplan. Wiccan. I've met with quite a few people I recognize,
but not anyone else from my reality. Do they still call you Iron Man?

[He's starting to feel really unenthusiastic about other!Tony.]

They do. The one and only. Who are the Fantastic Four? Not Avengers or X-Men. I wasn't aware there were any other teams in the game.

[You don't know the half of it]

The Fantastic Four? Its a four man team, my husband Reed and I, my brother Johnny, and our friend Ben. We're a little different from the Avengers and the X-Men. Though, Reed and I worked with the Avengers for a long time.

Let me guess--you didn't exactly part on good terms with the Avengers.

[That seems to be a constant theme, at least.]

Actually, we did. Reed and I are very good friends of...well...our Tony. Steve, Bruce, Thor and Wanda as well. But there just got to be too many Avengers when Carol and the others rejoined the team. The only one who ever gave either of us much trouble was Hank.

[A handful of names he knows and handful he doesn't. He can't help but wonder if he'e destined to cross paths with any of these people in the future.

He's not a huge fan of the idea of destiny.]

I think hero work is about the only time someone would complain about being underworked.

Family responsibilities as well. We took a break from the FF to help out when we were needed. But the home front, we had things to attend to as well.

God, you look so young, Tony. How long've you been Iron Man?

[That's an exceptionally welcome surprise. Considering Luceti's youngsters seem to like to call him old.]

Going around two and a half years now. Sounds like your Stark has been on it quite a bit longer.

At least twenty-four years. He's been Iron Man as long as the Fantastic Four have been together. I think the only heroes that've been active longer than us are the Hulk and maybe Captain America if you don't count that time-gap.

[...Wow, that is a really, really long time.

And to think, he nearly poisoned himself to death a few months into this gig.]

Twenty-four years, damn. I imagine a lot happens in a world of heroes in a time-span like that. So--tell me. What's the Superhuman Registration Act? Because I have the feeling it has to do with me--or, not me. Other Tony Stark. You know what I mean.

It does.

[She's not sure how much to tell Tony, given her chat with Pepper but there's no dodging it entirely.]

Its a government mandate ordering superhumans like, well...us, to register with the government. Its something all the Avengers were involved with, yourself and my husband included. If you've got no recollection of it, then its something unique to my reality. Its a political mess, nothing more, just a good gauge to see if our timelines match up.

[Hopefully that'll deflect it]

And yea, twenty four years is a long time. Lots of changes from when we first got started. I kinda envy you, honestly, being so new to it all.

[That doesn't explain much--but he has to wonder if that's part of what Billy was so hesitant to tell him. He'd let him off the hook in the hospital, but now...

Yeah, they might need to have a chat.]

I'll be honest, I'd rather be in this position, too. Even if your Iron Man might know a few tricks I don't. I suppose you could spoil me and tell me what neat things I invent, though.

[He's not so sure he wants to be spoiled about much else, though.]

[She agrees that they are going to need to have a talk, eventually. And she's going to impress upon Billy the important of a few things...]

Well, the Iron Man armor gets fairly regular upgrades, either from things you've come up with or things my husband has. You tend to work more on the weapons aspects, but Reed's the world's top scientist when it comes to propulsion systems and shielding technology.

The most spectacular thing I can think of? Extremis. I'm not sure what you did, but I know you injected yourself with a nanite serum that let you interface with the armor better. I remember even Reed was impressed with it.

Is that so? I know it's not exactly smiled upon to wish someone here, but if he showed up, I wouldn't mind a little chit-chat. There aren't enough first-class scientists around.

[#genius inventor problems]

Extremis, hm. [But after his little escapade with palladium poisoning? He's not sure how fond he is of the idea of injecting himself with anything. Serum is Captain America's thing.]

Honestly? I hope he turns up as well. If anyone could...figure a way out of this mess it would be Reed.

[Her voice? Full of conviction there. They've been in this situation before, inescapable prison dimension. Reed got out with math]

Yes, Extremis. From what I understood, you were poisoned by...something, and designed the nanites to repair the damage. But when it was fixed? Well, you recycled them. Reed and I both thought it was pretty clever.

[Oh, there he goes, getting poisoned in that universe, too. Good to know that's a constant. :| Except he didn't repair the damage himself. That was all good old dad's handiwork. And it's the cleanest power source on the planet.]

Food for thought, I suppose.

Yes. I suppose it is.

Tony, is there something wrong with your heart in your world?

[Oh, goody.] You mean, aside from the kernel of shrapnel trying to kill me every second? Nope. Fit as a fiddle.

Yes, that. My Tony has the same problem, though I've met another Tony Stark from another reality who's got problems with a heart disease, no shrapnel. That...seems to be common to all the Iron Men. I think some things are just constants.

That's reassuring. It's good to know that somewhere, in each of these realities a Tony Stark is teetering on the brink of death. I'd be disappointed, otherwise.

[Cheating death is a regular pastime of his, after all.]

You even sound like him. But, do yourself a favor, and don't overdo it with the scotch, ok? That's something my Tony's struggled with for a long, long time.

Speaking of, is there any place in town I could get something a bit stiffer than coffee? I don't, normally, but this is...pretty weird. Even for me.

[Oh, he won't overdo it. He'll just very closely toe the line of overdoing it.]
